WHO IS PENELOPE BAT?
Hello, world. My name is Penelope Bat. I’m a former film student, current art student living part time in Palm Beach, Florida and part time in Brooklyn, New York with my daring darling loverboy. I’m a vegetarian, a slow-dancer, a daydreamer of epic proportions and a budding epicurean who lives for Pad Thai and soul food. Forever a kid at heart, I have a fluttering love of fairy tales and poetry slams and I have these fizzy champagne dreams of opening a tiny pink boutique and making tiny 16mm movies and writing novellas on an old typewriter and singing shamelessly in a ska band. I’m a saucy wild-child, an ENFP, a Cancer who is most un-Cancerlike and an 11.
I’m an eternal optimist in a little red bungalow.
I made my debut into the print world in early 2009 as a contributer to Australia’s eco-fashion magazine, Peppermint, writing about the evolution of clothes and the stories that they tell. With a little bit of luck and a whole lot of love, I’m hoping to continue in this direction of glossy magazines and full-page spreads, although I do have plans to start working on a tiny novella about life, love, and the magic in-between in the Summer of ‘09.
I’m addicted to meeting new people and hearing what they have to say, so if you want to ask me a question or share a song or recite your favorite poem or even just say hello, feel free to drop me a line! I will always respond.
